Drawing, painting and printmaking are central to my artistic practice as a means to witness and interpret observed, conceptual and imagined realities. I have developed a language and commitment to the drawn image which allows me to explore narrative, technical and compositional potential of these realities. I am fascinated by the technical and poetic qualities of renaissance painting and drawing, as an expression of narrative, mythological and religious ideas.

I trained at ECA at Bachelor’s and Master’s degree level followed by a year at the Royal Drawing School. I received the James Cummings drawing award, the Andrew Grant scholarship, the Drawing School scholarship and the Trelex residency in Switzerland. My illustrations writing has been published have been published online as well as a publication collaborating with the composer Nigel Morgan. My artwork has featured in several exhibitions as well as being included in a British council tour in Korea.

I am currently the artist in residence for the kings Gallery, Renaissance Exhibition at Holyrood palace, Edinburgh. My work as visiting artist for the The Scottish opera, is now culminating in an exhibition at the festival Theatre, Edinburgh . I to create a drawn synthesis of the narratives, lyric and imagery I observe. This creates a new world of narrative operating in a liminal space between the personal and external. Whether from engagement with fine art or live performance, I create images that both form an alliance with the characters and story whilst interrogating my personal themes of the roles of women both societally, historically and personally, with a psychological biographical backdrop.
