Dette Allmark is an accomplished artist, illustrator and writer based in Edinburgh. She creates beautiful works in paint, pencil and various printmaking techniques both as pieces in themselves or as illustration to a narrative. She writes both stories and reflective written pieces.
After training as a fine artist and printmaker, I have expanded my practice as an illustrator working from myths, concepts or my own adult or children’s stories. I have received scholarships from The Royal Drawing School and Edinburgh College of art and received the James Cummings Draughtsmanship award. My writing has been published on the Maternal Art website and illustrations have been published as a collaboration with the composer Nigel Morgan. My artwork has featured in several exhibitions as well as being included in a British council tour in Korea. I have completed an artists residency in Trelex in Switzerland. I am keen to take commissions, exhibit further and publish my illustrations and written work.
